Mo'Nique walks away as winner during the Oscar Award Show. It was her comments on the Barbara Walters Oscar Night Special about having an open marriage that raised some folks eyebrows. Samuel Jackson did an eye roll to the side,that did not go unnoticed, after she thanked her husband for his support, got folks tongues to wagging. Sam is my man and I would love to know just what caused him to do the eye roll.

Allen County Political Power- Reject Government Reform
A whistle blower is someone who reports wrongdoing. One famous whistle blower is
Erin Brockovich. Brockovich raised the issue of a California utility company contaminating water in its community. The company had to pay out millions of dollars.
The cost of losing ones job prevent many folks from blowing the whistle on misconduct by their employers. Although, their are laws to protect whistleblower, it is not enough to motivate workers to risk their jobs in the hope that justice will prevail. More than likely the potential whistle blower will be ostracized by it coworkers and labeled a troublemaker.
In a letter penned by Philip Pease, former Allen County IT Project Manager, he was

The small potato has no power, but holds the fact that he or she can make it uncomfortable for those who don't toe the line or remain loyal even during times of wrongdoing. Tavis Smiley and Al Sharpton arguing for a New Black Forum
Tavis Smiley called out Al Sharpton and Charles Ogletree on the leading African-American radio show, the Tom Joyner Morning Show for a black agenda. Sharpton responded by challenging by accusing Smiley as still bruising from the refusal of President Barack Obama to attend Smiley's former State of the Union forum.

Van Jones -NAACP President Image Award
The National Association for the Advancement of Color People (NAACP) will present the President award to Van Jones during it's image award ceremony. NAACP President Ben Jealous will do the honor on Friday, February 26, on FOX at 8:00pm Eastern / 7:00pm Central. Jones a former white house adviser is the co-founder of Green for All.
Since 1970, the NAACP Image award has recognized those individuals who embodies culture and artistic achievement toward the African-American family. NAACP press release:

Jones, President Barack Obama former White House Council on Environmental Quality
adviser stepped down after critics found some of Jones' comments too offensive to hold a position in the White House. Nevertheless, after the controversy, Jones has revitalized himself with the Center For American Progress’s Green Opportunity Initiative, which will promote investment and jobs in clean energy. In addition Jones as a distinguished visiting fellow will serve one year at Princeton University's Center for African American Studies and Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
Jones, explained his highly controversial 9/11 comment on a recent appearance on the Tavis Smiley Show, and the challenge for science to promote change against the resistance from deep pocket. Am I most brotha or sista Keepers-Roslyn Brock ?
Roslyn Brock will be taking this question to the community as the new chairperson of one of the oldest organization in the African-American Community, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Brock will be the youngest board member to chair the organization. Brock will take over the long held seat from 70 year old Julian Bond. Bond, a long time civil right leader has been accused by young folks of being out of touch with issues impacting the "Black" Community.
At the age 0f 35,Brock served as vice-chairperson under Julian Bond in 2001 and brings to her new position over 25 years of NAACP leadership experience:

leadership roles. She is a Diamond Life Member of NAACP and joined the
Association as a freshman at Virginia Union University where she was elected

Senator Evan Bayh throws in the towel
It is no surprise that Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will not run for this third term in the United State Senate. Senator Bayh is a no match against the Republican Dan Coats. That also means that Indiana voters will not have to fall prey to the fundraising ploy of the Democrats that their native son Bayh is a possible contender for President of the United States.
Now what will Indiana Democrats do to retain the upward mobility that President Barack Obama infused into the party? Right now, they are trying to follow the money trail that Bayh will leave behind:

Shelby Steele attacks oprah, tiger, michael, bill and President Obama
hAS President Barack Obama deceived the masses about his ability to be the leader of the United States, inspite of his skin color? According to Shelby Steele it is time for the the masses to remove their rose color glasses and stop waiting on President Obama to become something that he is not..a black world leader. And the only reason the masses are in denial, is because they don't want to appear to be racialists, "joining oneself to an obvious falsehood in order to achieve social acceptance."
The masses brought into the election of a black president ending the racial stigma of Americans once and for all.
These are empty shirts with no power, "Emperor with no clothes" mentality..arrogance, snobbish, but not real leaders, Steele includes Bill Cosby in this group. African-Americans who hide behind a mask of blackness that is negotiable to raced whites. Those raced whites who pretend that skin color does not matter,until the Tigerish behavior rises to the surface. And those African-Americans can not expect to exact a wage from white guilt after their fall from grace..they no longer have the bargaining chip of a colorblind society or the national insecurity about race.

Trecastagni, Italy
We traveled to Trescastgni to look at housing. I found the view of Mount Etna from the area more attractive than the housing. I was surprised at how close, we were to the volcano. But even more surprising is that there is housing even closer to Mount Etna.

swarm of earthquakes occurred at Mt Etna volcano on 19th December. More than 30 earthquakes occurred in the swarm, with the largest being magnitude 4.6 The swarm was located under the northwest side of the volcano.

Tiger it was cheaper to keep her
Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, reportedly is going to leave him. This comes after a car crash and headlines riddled with sexual encounters a la carte by Tiger absence wife. The affairs did not kill the marriage, public embarrassment did. Had Woods' wife been able to beat the heck out of Tiger and the car not crash, she would be still there.
But the media got involved and exposed to the publuc, that Elin the model was staying with a "brotha" who cheats on her. So backed into a corner, Elin to save face holds Tiger's parental rights as her ace card. She wants the "divorce". She uses his cheating ways to get physical custody of the children, to get Tiger to pay beyond the $20 million prenup and her story covered in the media.
So, why does Elin get to take the children to Sweden?
Because, Elin tolerated Tiger going from hole to hole until he dug his very own "hole." The hole, allows her to walk away with the children and more money. Elin can't afford to give them the lifestyle that the children are accustomed too, but Tiger paying child support should do the trick beyond that $20 million prenup.
It was cheaper to keep her, but Tiger got greedy and that's the rest of the story.

Blogger reports that there were injuries in Catania from the tornado that ripped off roofs and felled trees in Motta Sant'Anastasia See video below.
I wrote about a storm in Motta Sant'Anastasia being simply, heavy rain and high winds, I was wrong, it was a tornado.

As can be seen from a map of lightning strikes, the radar indicated severe thunderstorms on these areas with lightning striking. Cells storm, marching northward, tended to expand and swell, but only one case did not get through the Messina Strait.
I dreaded cumulonimbus have been responsible for heavy rains, but the most serious occurred between 15.30 and 16.00 as a whirlwind sowed panic and terror, especially among Motta Santa Anastasia, 15 kilometers from the capital, with many roofs that were unroofed, trees uprooted, billboards and killed. Metal plates have been reported in 'flight' on the highway Catania-Palermo, near the intersection for Motta S. Anastasia. In Catania, the districts most affected were those of the district and marinara Pigno Vaccarizzo. A storm also flooded several underpasses in the area of floor board Misterbianco. Lid off the hangar of the base of Air Force helicopters Maristaeli.

When I first read the article below, I thought about the site where you can report a cheating boyfriend. The more I read the article, I really didn't think the person was serious. I began to believe the person was more interested in promoting a book. The book sounds like it directed at African-American women. Those women who have had it up to here with brothas. I believe, a sort of STeve Harvey type book on feeling better about yourself after surviving a bad relationship with a BROTHA. While at the same time sends some zingers towards my blond loving brother Tiger Woods. Please leave Tiger alone..he is only one brotha. But, I know my sistas and my brothas will add their two cents to a conversation that need more walking than talking. Here's goes the article

Tiger Woods' Piece
When I heard Tiger Wood's car with him in it crashed into a tree and rescued by his wife swinging a golf club, I thought Hmmm. Meaning, Tiger hit a tree, was he drinking? He always seem to be a little puffy around the eye,lately so it was plausible. Him hitting a tree, but, his wife, beating out that back window, gave me a minute pause.
She had to be either one strong sister or one angry sister.
But, the story began to flip-flip..Tiger and the Wifey marital dispute, marital domestic violence began to appear in the headlines. Allegedly Tiger stepped outside his wedding vows propping the wife breaking the hell out of his car after attacking the "Tiger".
Now this all made sense, but could you believe what you read in the paper. Tiger confirms, he is floater. Sistas were supposedly smirking at this news. Reports were written that sistas were mad at Tiger for not marrying a sista or even considering marrying a sistas. If sista were smirking it was because, this woman believed that she had the billion man all to herself.
And the mistress was just an anybody, a Kathy Lee-Frank Gifford moment. And the rest of the world would read that Tiger did not need a model to satisfy his appetite. Not only does wifey get upset, but mistress number one finds she was not the only one and gets upset.
Mistress number one starts talking after she finds out Tiger was not that into her. Bad news for Tiger because the kept woman would soon sell her story to the media, bring out the other female fans. Wifey with two children is devastated and embarrassed, with her business in the tabloid. Wifey not going anyway, which means mistress days were numbered. Wifey was staying put as Tiger confessed he needed to save his marriage. Not that he loved his wife, but he needed to save his billion dollar marriage.
End of story.
Nope sponsors decided that Tiger was not the right image for their product. Come on people, some of these folks probably paid for the female fans. But, that's neither here or there. Tiger's wife is still in the marriage, but sponsors are taking sides and dropping Tiger.
Tiger and his wife need to do a Bill and Hillary Clinton sit down interview. Elin will say she forgives Tiger and she is going to stand by her man. It worked for Hillary. And Bill is speaking to folks all over the world without even a whisper about what's her name..monica.
Tiger's wife knew Tiger was cheating on her, just like Hillary knew about Bill. Fame kept them together. Sponsor dropping him, does not mean the end of Tiger's golfing career.

Eleven days before Christmas, and you going to get the last load of your belonging to move your family into your new home. The last thing on your mind is to see a roof falling off a building to the street.
That's exactly what happened to a fellow driving behind a bus. Moments later he was telling his story to whoever would listen. Luckily, he was driving behind a bus, he reflects on the terrible event just before Christmas. before the roof fell to the street. The something, was a rain storm with a whipping wind that cause some damage to buildings, cars and Christmas decorations.
Demise was all over the small streets, and neighbors were uprighting thier patio furniture and piecing together nativity scenes. A decorated Santa was no longer hanging from his dangling ladder. The rope ladder and Santa were left clinging on the top balcony railings.

Stacey Stumpf writes an article in the Journal Gazette about the naivete of opponents to Earth First’s plan to transport garbage on Pontiac street. The new business Summit Recycling and Transfer would have sorted the trash to take out of Allen County. Earth First, did not get the bid but Summit Recycling and Transfer remains and is open for business on Pontiac Street.

But, was it the full story,,or was their an omission of the trashing hauling business that would later be called Earth First,llc? Why didn't Earth First have another location in mind?
Oh they knew, as I pointed out in an article in June 2006. Many businesses attempted to build in this area and were turned away or discouraged.
So, Earth First, llc did not make it this time, but that won't stop Summit Recycling and Transfer from going for it the next time.

North Caroline Abducted Child--S. Davis
Last night the Indianapolis Colts won by one point-35-34. After the game, media talking head debated whether or not Nebraka coach should have went for the 4th and 2.Athe same time, I was reading about a 5 year old girl. The North Carolina's body was found after she was reported kidnapped.
Sad story.
It goes something like this, the mother allegedly sold her daughter to another person. The daughter was used for prostituion. How shocking that the mother would do such a thing to her daughter. But, even more shocking were the deviate who would perform such act with a child, the person who put the child in harms way and the person who killed her.
Still, somewhere out there in North Carolina is a market for young children. So, what is N.C.doing about it? This mother did a horrible thing, but she did not act alone. The seed was planted in her mind, by some evil person about folks having sex with children. The child to young to know whats going on, right? Wrong.
This is not the first time, this is not the last time, but we must stop pretending it's okay for men to have sex with little girls.
Early that night, I watched a movie, called the Informant. One line in the movie said something like, when men get off the airplane in China or Japan, they can buy little girl used underwears. The question, how is this possible? Who gives these underwears to be sold?
Children are not safe..because thse deviants are protected. Children in Need of Services (Chins) is a program that highlight the amount of abuse that is allowed to happen to children. The underlying belief is that if a child survives such a horrible act, time will heal. In essence the child will get over it.
This allows the deviate to do it over and over again.

When things fall apart-Vince Robinson
It is no surprise, that Vince Robinson has stepped down as public information for the City of Fort Wayne. Robinson had to go, after a person filed the protective order. What took so long for the City to let Robinson go, was finding a person of color to replace Robinson.
C. Achebe wrote about the erosion of self, when exposed to a culture that does not love a people. Fort Wayne has not been kind to the community of African-Americans. And some African-Americans who have helped negatively define the African-American community find they never escaped their blackness.
But what is more unconscionable is how city officials shifted one African-American male from the police department information positon to fill the public information for the City of Fort Wayne. It is appalling. It is pool of old and new faces that could have filled the position. Catania, Italy
I remember watching an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. Raymond had taken his whole family to Italy. Raymond did not fully understand himself being a foreigner in a different culture. Raymond had to learn to do as the Romans do. Little did I know that I would end up in Italy, experiencing the language barrier and the culture of leaving in a foreign country. In other words, opening yourself up to learning a language, custom and history totally foreign. It is truly a cultural shock.
However, because of the intercultural program and the fact that some Italians speak English, this visit will be a most memoriable experience. First, let me say, the people are charming. Although, I did see a small disagreement between two men, it has been a peaceful and quiet visit. And if you saw how they drive here you could easily understand how the two men ended up going their separate ways after a brief exchange of choice words. The driving in the province of Catania is like a ton of cars driving on a narrow road of constants curves going left than right than left. Oh let's not forget those who believe you are traveling to slow and decides to pass you on these narrow streets. Yes, driving is not for those who suffer from a bad heart.
And if you are not a big bread and cheese eater, you might not want to go Italia. Let's see, the folks drive espresso in a thimble size cup and snack on a cheese like sandwich. I did not say anything about eggs, bacon, grits and toast for breakfast, good luck in finding this. I'm sure you can but it is not the norm. Italia eat lots of pasta!!!
But, if you want to see a clean city, with castles, chapels, temples, mosques, cathedrals amongst mountains, beaches, and an active volcano, come see Italy. You can visit Rome, Poland, Venezia, Naple and old so much more. It is so much to do that you can become overwhelmed. But bored, no,,just many sure you have enough euros to experience Italy.

African-American community and the local health department
Parkview Hospital has stepped in to save residents from the H1N1 pandemic. The Clinic at Carew Medical Park opened it doors for the dispersal of the H1N1 mist and injectable vaccine after it became apparent that the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department was ill prepared for the demand of the vaccine with over 4, 800 showing up for the spray mist.
Immunization Clinic closed until futher notice
The Immunization Clinic on the 5th floor of the City-County will be closed for until further notice. Children who need routine vaccinations need to contact their private health care provider, or visit a Super Shot location. (bold print added).
FW-AC Health Department wanted to serve the public as simply a public information service only agency in combating the flu. When the public expects the local health department to administrate the vaccines in a timely fashion. But these folks are only window dressing ghost like employees at the local health department in Fort Wayne.
It is not when is the H1N1 is going to hit. It is how wide spread will H1N1 be and how many deaths will occur from the influence virus. The strain is spreading so fast that the state no longer is keeping track of confirmed H1N1 cases.
The state, which tallied confirmed H1N1 cases this spring and summer, has stopped keeping an official count. Officials know the virus is so widespread -- about 6,000 in Indiana likely have had H1N1 -- that keeping track of the mild flu strain is not worth the expense, Monroe said.
Parkview Health is providing space for the clinic at Carew Medical Park, located at 1818 Carew Street on monday for the the injectable vaccine. How folks will response to this vaccine is under determined. Those eligible to take the shot will be young children and young pregnant women. This will leave many in the African-American community who suffer from asthma, diabetes or heart disease still vulnerable. Yep, I said it.
Individuals aged 6 months to 24 years of age, pregnant women, and people aged 25 to 64 years of age with chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, or heart disease are at higher risk for complications from this infection.
This is not me saying this, this is the CDC and Indiana government saying this. So what is wrong with our local healtlh department?
FW-AC Health Department is both understaffed and incompetent to administrate a mass inoculations against the new strain of the flu. 81 death has already occurred and the flu season has not started according to report from CNN on October 18, 2009 at 4:45 P.M. But FW-AC Health Department will focus only on pregnant women and children up to 18 years old.
One of the reason for this targeted small sample group is because the air borne disease will be carried into day cares and schools impacting other children. The disease will spread like wildfire through the schools. The disease will than travel into homes.
The best local health department wanted to do was pretend that it was on top of thing with their fake educate panel. You will see the posting of signs saying thing like, wash hands regularly and keep children with a fever at home away from other children. But the truth of the matter, Fort Wayne has already been exposed to the disease.
Make sure you will be prepared for this disease and the next strain after H1N1.
